2008 Event Agenda

A special thank you to everyone involved with SnoBlast 2007. Our annual event was another great success because of you. Whether you were a sponsor of the event, volunteered your time, donated a raffle or silent auction item or assisted in another fashion, we greatly appreciate your continued support!

SnoBlast Event History:

In 1994 staff member Kerry Koeshall suggested the idea of a winter time event to annually bring people to Lake Arrowhead during the winter season. Our first SnoBlast event was held the second weekend of Feb. 1995.

Members of Lake Arrowhead volunteered to help staff plan events for all ages to enjoy. There are numerous activities to attract people to come out during the winter and the thought of fireworks over a blanket of snow – was an awesome idea.

Another member-orientated group became involved with the annual event - the Romen’ Needles Quilt Guild. These ladies hand make quilts annually to raffle in support of SnoBlast. Proceeds raised area also donated to charitable organizations.

Over the years, some events remain standards our raffles, bake sale, silent auction, tournaments, etc. New activities have been added every year as well - dog sled rides, horse-drawn wagon rides and more. A new attraction in 2005 was lawn mower races hosted by the Tri-City Children’s Dream Foundation, Inc. The lawn mower races are completely organized by the Tri-City Children's Dream Foundation and use monies raised to provide terminally ill children with a special dream, sending them to Disney World, NASCAR races, etc.

To date the SnoBlast Committee has donated over $16,400 to local charitable organizations. Recipients include Lester Public Library of Rome, Rome Police & Fire Departments, Adams County Humane Society, Adams County Food Pantry, Golf to Benefit Cancer Research, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Woodland Girl Scout Association, and the Tri-City Children's Dream Foundation.

SnoBlast supports Tri-City Children's Dream Foundation, Inc. The Foundation organized in 2000 for the sole purpose of assisting children with special needs, physical or mentally challenged, to realize dreams they wouldn't otherwise do.

At the age of five, Kayla Keech of Kellner was the lucky recipient of the first "dream to come true" via the Foundation.  To inquire further please call JR Hildebrandt at 715-886-5111.
